Our cosmetology curriculum has evolved over 90 years and has produced many successful cosmetologists.


The cosmetology curriculum consists of 1000 clock hours of technical instruction and practical operations covering all practices constituting the art of cosmetology pursuant to section 7316 of the barbering and Cosmetology Act.


The instructions involve demonstrations, lectures, classroom participation, and exams. You'll perform actual services on a client and/or mannequin.

Develop Your Cosmetology Skills

  1. The proper use of implements relative to all cosmetology services.
  2. How to analyze the scalp, face, and hands prior to services to determine disorders.
  3. The procedures and terminology used in performing all cosmetology services.
  4. The application of daytime and evening make-up including false strip eyelashes.
  5. The proper procedures of manicuring including water and oil manicure and pedicure.
  6. The application of brush-on nails, nail wraps, and nail tips.
  7. Personal growth and development.
  8. Career and business development.

Cosmetology Licensing Requirements

You must possess a high school diploma or GED in order to attend our college. A cosmetology license will be granted by the Barbering and Cosmetology program only after you've successfully completed and graduated from the cosmetology course described above. You'll also need to pass the Barbering and Cosmetology examination with an overall average of 75%.
